Preliminary charges were dropped against Eric Olsen, the former CEO at LafargeHolcim, who was one of several people being investigated over suspicions that he funded terrorism in Syria.

According to Reuters, French authorities continue to explore whether the company paid the Islamic State earlier this decade to keep plants up and running in areas held by the terrorist group.

“This decision saves my honor and will allow me to resume with my career after fighting for several months to contribute to establishing the truth,” Olsen says in a statement.

Olsen resigned from his post at LafargeHolcim in 2017 after he was formally charged in the Syria probe.
