Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) is slated to open a new parts distribution center in Toronto in early 2018.
The 181,000-sq.-ft. facility will replace a regional parts depot there and will allow the company to expedite parts delivery.
According to the company, the distribution center supports its customer experience initiative and allows Volvo dealers to restock both common and business-critical parts faster.
“This new facility is a key step in our journey to be No. 1 in machine uptime in the industry,” says Ken Silverman, vice president of aftermarket and customer solutions at Volvo CE Region Americas. “Today’s customers have an expectation of next-day delivery, and the new distribution center, located near Toronto’s main international airport hub, will improve our lead times and give us the ability to deliver parts anywhere in Canada by early a.m. the next day.”
The opening of this distribution center follows the opening of a distribution center in Byhalia, Mississippi and secondary parts distribution centers in Columbus, Ohio and Reno, Nevada, in 2015.
