
The 22nd annual Underground Stone Safety Seminar will take place Dec. 5-6 in Louisville, Kentucky, at the Downtown Louisville Marriott.
The seminar will feature a slate of speakers presenting on ground control engineering solutions, along with health and safety topics related to airblasts, dust control and mine ventilation.
A workshop begins at 4 p.m. on Dec. 5 and will offer updates on the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health’s (NIOSH) research on lighting to improve safety and underground mine communication infrastructure. A reception immediately follows the workshop.
On Dec. 6, registration begins at 7 a.m. followed by welcoming remarks at 8 a.m. The meeting is slated to start at 8 a.m., followed by lunch at 12:15 p.m. The meeting wraps up with door prizes at 4 p.m.
