Atlas Copco opens US manufacturing plant

Atlas Copco opened a manufacturing plant in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

The new plant will manufacture portable compressors and generators for the construction market and medical gas products for hospitals. It will also feature a customer center, the company says.

“This state-of-the-art factory will improve our production capabilities, enhancing productivity for our customers in North America,” says Andrew Walker, president of the construction technique business area for Atlas Copco.

The new facility also achieved a Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design certification, according to Atlas Copco. In addition, the company moved operations from another facility in Rock Hill to this new facility.

Atlas Copco, founded in 1873 in Stockholm, Sweden, offers its customers compressors, vacuum solutions and air treatment systems, construction and mining equipment, power tools and assembly systems.
