Flexco introduced a polyurethane canoe liner to its conveyor protection solutions lineup.

Once installed in a facility’s conveyor skirtboard system, Flexco says the polyurethane canoe liner provides impact protection, absorbing material loads and preventing structural damage while improving conveyor efficiency and reducing costs.

“The polyurethane canoe liner is a much-needed addition to our collection of conveyor protection systems,” says Kevin Fales, product manager for belt conveyor products at Flexco. “During site visits, our territory managers often notice conveyor systems that are being overloaded or experiencing off-center material placement that damages skirtboard walls. Unfortunately, this can create significant issues for plant managers, as when their skirtboards are damaged, they face costly repairs, extended downtime and decreased operational efficiency.

“The structural damage that is created is expensive to repair, often requiring complete skirtboard replacement, and causes other components to become susceptible to excess wear,” Fales adds. “Worse, the material spillage subjects their on-site workforce to hazardous working conditions and cleanup requirements.”

By utilizing the new canoe liner, the company says operators can effectively protect their skirtboard infrastructure, mitigating these negative effects and helping to reduce potential downtime incidents.

Flexco says its new liner can be quickly mounted in existing skirtboard systems without major modifications, avoiding complications that can arise from traditional rubber tiles or basic urethane solutions – which may require extensive system alterations during installation. The polyurethane liner mounts inside the skirt box, where material impact occurs, and it’s designed to absorb heavy loads and create a high-wear barrier to protect the conveyor’s infrastructure.

Additionally, the liner features a steel-reinforced construction that helps it withstand the rigors of overloaded conveyor conditions while enabling quick replacement when worn.

Flexco’s new canoe liner is available in segments up to 48 in. and can be sized to match specific skirtboard dimensions. Additionally, it features a steel-reinforced urethane construction for maximum durability, operates effectively under heavy material loads, and includes complete mounting hardware for immediate installation.

The polyurethane canoe liner is suitable for heavy-duty applications such as aggregates, cement, coal, open pit and hard rock mining, underground mining and bulk material handling.
