The Texas Aggregates & Concrete Association (TACA) named Clinton Harned vice president of governmental affairs.

Harned has 10 years of political and governmental experience, most recently as director of the Texas Senate Natural Resources Committee.

At TACA, Harned is responsible for the development and implementation of public, regulatory, and local and state government relations strategies and initiatives for the aggregate, concrete, cement and associated industries in Texas.

“Clint’s experience with the Senate Natural Resources Committee gives him a strong appreciation for both the legislative process and the importance of meaningful engagement with communities and stakeholders,” says Andrew Pinkerton, president and CEO of TACA. “He will be a valuable voice as we work with lawmakers, regulators and residents to support responsible growth and essential infrastructure development across the state.”

As director of the Texas Senate Natural Resources Committee – which has jurisdiction over the state’s natural resources and environmental policy – TACA says Harned engaged with stakeholders to develop policy, steer research and facilitate public participation on the state’s natural assets.

Prior to that, Harned spent several years working in the Texas House of Representatives and conducting political campaigns.

“TACA plays a vital role at the intersection of infrastructure, environmental stewardship and community growth,” Harned says. “I look forward to engaging with lawmakers, regulators and local stakeholders to ensure policies reflect both the needs of Texas communities and the realities of supplying the materials required to build and maintain the infrastructure that Texans rely on every day.”
