
Great Lakes limestone shipments totaled 2.4 million tons in November, an 18.1 percent decrease compared to the prior November.
According to the Lake Carriers’ Association (LCA) limestone tonnages in November also finished 18.1 percent below the month’s five-year average.
Loadings from U.S. quarries decreased 20.3 percent to 2 million tons. Shipments from Canadian quarries reached 462,213 tons, a decrease of 7.3 percent.
Through 11 months of 2025, LCA reports the Great Lakes limestone trade at 25.2 million tons. That’s a 6.9 percent decrease versus the same stretch of 2024.
Loadings from Michigan and Ohio quarries decreased 6.3 percent to 20.6 million tons, while shipments from quarries in Ontario dropped 9.7 percent to 4.7 million tons.
