Burnco Rock Products, a Calgary, Canada-based aggregate, asphalt and concrete producer, formed a new executive leadership team.
The newly appointed team is tasked with driving the company’s next phase of growth, both in the Canadian and U.S. markets. Burnco operates across Western Canada, Texas and Colorado.
Tom Zais, who was named Burnco CEO as part of the new leadership team, is excited about the opportunities ahead for the company.
“As we expand our presence across North America, we are committed to enhancing operational performance, maintaining world-class safety standards and delivering sustainable growth,” Zais says. “This leadership team brings a wealth of experience and a shared commitment to excellence, positioning Burnco to capitalize on new opportunities and solidify our leadership in the construction materials sector.”

In his new role, Zais will lead Burnco’s multinational operations, overseeing strategic direction, vision and performance, the company says. He has extensive experience in the cement, aggregates and concrete industries.
Alongside Zais, five other leadership positions were filled at Burnco. Rick Pucci was named COO, Derek Mendham was named CFO, Terry Marshall will serve as chief information officer, Craig Hampson is now chief business enablement officer and Dave Both was brought on as general counsel.
Stepping into the role of COO, Pucci has more than 30 years of leadership experience in the building materials industry. He received his civil engineering degree from Queen’s University and has held senior roles at Lafarge and Holcim throughout North America, southeast Asia and Europe. He will drive Burnco’s operational excellence and growth across North America, the company says.

Mendham brings 30 years of financial leadership experience in corporate strategy to the CFO position at Burnco. As a chartered professional accountant and chartered financial analyst, Burnco says Mendham’s expertise will support the company’s growth and strategic expansion.
As chief information officer, the company says Marshall will accelerate Burnco’s digital initiatives. Marshall is a seasoned technology executive with expertise in IT strategy, digital transformation and cybersecurity. He has a background in computer science and holds certifications from Carnegie Mellon University.
Hampson joins Burnco as chief business enablement officer, bringing a wealth of experience in strategic human capital management and organizational transformation, according to Burnco. Hampson has an MBA from the University of Calgary and trained in digital business strategy at MIT Sloan. Throughout his career, Burnco says Hampson has driven growth through improved employee experiences and scalable processes.
