The 100-metric-ton DX1000LC-7 conventional tail swing excavator from Develon removes overburden and loads large amounts of material in quarries, particularly when configured for mass excavation. The DX1000LC-7 features a swing priority mode for optimized bank cutting and loading, as well as a standard removable counterweight for simplified transport. The excavator’s unique crossed design swing bearing improves stress distribution and enhances reliability.
Breakers combine versatile boom with hydraulic power

Toku America developed the Striker hydraulic rock breaker line, which is comprised of heavy-duty, mid-range and mobile options. According to the company, each breaker features a versatile boom that can effectively reach into a crusher and aid in the reduction of oversized rock and hopper blockages. Toku America touts improved safety, productivity and profitability as among the benefits of the Striker line. The breakers are engineered to meet specific crusher and aggregate material application demands in a range of sizes and reach.
Hydraulic hybrid tech applied to new-gen excavators

The latest generation of excavators from Volvo Construction Equipment now features the company’s hydraulic hybrid technology. The models with the tech are Volvo CE’s EC260 Hybrid, EC300 Hybrid, EC370 Hybrid, EC400 Hybrid and EC500 Hybrid. According to the company, the new models deliver up to 20 percent better fuel efficiency than the previous series’ conventional models, as well as a 15 percent reduction in CO2 emissions – without sacrificing productivity. Volvo CE says its hydraulic hybrid technology works by harvesting “free” energy generated by the down motion of the excavator’s boom. The machine uses this boom-down motion to charge the accumulator. It then uses the stored energy to drive the assist motor when needed. This, in turn, powers the engine system.
Full-synthetic heavy-duty engine oil for fleets

Petro-Canada Lubricants’ Duron UHP 10W-30 is an ultra-high-performance full-synthetic heavy-duty diesel engine oil designed to meet the demands of modern heavy-duty engines. The low-viscosity engine oil delivers up to 1 percent improved fuel economy compared to an SAE 15W-40, the company says, helping fleets cut costs and reduce their total cost of ownership. Duron UHP 10W-30 safeguards engines against harmful sludge, deposit buildup and wear, increasing durability and reliability over time.
