Dick Cheney, former vice president, criticized President Barack Obama’s spending policies, saying that Obama needs to spend more on the military and less on domestic priorities.
During an event sponsored by Politico, Cheney claimed that Obama’s main responsibility is to “defend the Constitution of the United States,” which he believes means increasing military spending.
“That ought to be our top priority for spending,” says Cheney. “Not food stamps, not highways or anything else.”
According to an article in the Huffington Post, Cheney was the leading advocate of invading Iraq in 2003 and has no regrets about his decision to go to war, despite the fact that it cost an estimated $2.2 trillion and resulted in 190,000 casualties.
