Werk-Brau customizes loader buckets for harsh, demanding applications such as aggregates and riprap, incorporating features to prolong service life and enhance production. In addition to using high-strength abrasion-resistant steel in critical areas – as well as curved sidewalls with a beveled design – loader buckets incorporate increased roll back angle. According to Werk-Brau, the strap design withstands the high-digging forces exerted by today’s more powerful machines. The 11.5-cu.-yd. bucket pictured features an internal liner to elongate service life, wear shrouds to protect vertical edges, and a spade lip cutting edge for more breakout force.
Bar added to collection of conveyor belt support systems

Flexco added a belt support bar to its line of heavy-duty belt support system tools. Once installed onto a conveyor belt, Flexco says the belt support bar immediately creates a better seal, mitigating the release of dust and creating a more efficient and safer belt conveying process. According to Flexco, the bar allows installation crews to leave the belt in place during setup, avoiding complications that arise when using a different support system such as impact bars that may require a team to lift the belt and completely remove the prior system during installation. Instead, Flexco’s belt support bar bolts onto the frame of the conveyor structure between idlers. It’s pushed in place to hold the belt up, and it’s then bolted in place to create a seal and flattened belt.
Conveyor automation gets an update

Superior Industries upgraded its TeleStacker conveyor PilePro automation with several new features. According to Superior, the 14.0 version of the automation includes a higher-resolution display that improves readability – even under direct sunlight. Additionally, operations can now be monitored from anywhere with remote viewing to reduce trips to the conveyor. Superior says the related housing was optimized to withstand extreme temperatures for year-round performance. Also, hydraulic and electrical schematics and how-to videos were integrated into the PilePro program.
Hydraulic hose business expands with product launch

Continental launched the X-Life XCP5 as a flexible, braided hose for high-pressure hydraulic applications requiring extra abrasion resistance. The hose is part of a Continental initiative to offer a premium braided hose portfolio that is ISO 18752-compliant. The company says the X-Life XCP5 is best for applications that require tight bends and flexibility, including ones in mining and construction. The X-Life XCP5 works in temperatures ranging from minus 40 to 212 degrees, Continental adds. Fittings can be ordered with an optional ArmorPlate coating shield, which provides protection from harsh elements.
